Now Hiring an Assistant Chocolatier

Deiter’s Chocolates is seeking a chocolate/pastry professional to be part of our growing production team. We are interested in hiring an Assistant Chocolatier to help create a broad range of chocolates and confections. The ideal candidate understands all aspects of chocolate making and production flow. Deiter’s Chocolates offers a friendly working environment with competitive pay and room for advancement.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist chocolatier in creation and production of chocolates and confections for sale in retail store and website
  • Assist in inventory assessment to determine production priorities
  • Assist chocolatier in development of new products
  • Clean tools, utensils, and other production equipment
  • Keep workspace, kitchen, and stockroom clean and well organized

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year chocolate and production experience
  • Able to hand temper milk, dark, and white chocolate
  • Understanding of flavor profiles
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to balance many tasks and shift from one to another quickly
  • Able to take initiative to accomplish all set tasks and goals
  • Able to work well as a team member, follow instructions, and respond to constructive feedback
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Observe all food and safety requirements
  • Flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
